Salary: £120 - £145 per day, depending on experience

Job Description

We are currently recruiting for an enthusiastic and committed Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a welcoming primary school in the leeds area.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant or HLTA who is passionate about supporting children's learning and development and would like to take on additional responsibility within a primary school environment.

The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers and the wider school team, supporting pupils across the classroom and providing targeted support where required.

Key Responsibilities

• Support teachers with the delivery of engaging and effective learning activities.
• Work with individuals and small groups to support pupils' learning and progress.
• Lead small-group activities and interventions where appropriate.
• Provide support to pupils with SEN and additional learning needs.
• Help create a positive, inclusive and well-managed classroom environment.
• Encourage pupils to develop confidence, independence and positive attitudes towards learning.
• Build positive and professional relationships with pupils, teachers and support staff.
• Support classroom routines and contribute to the wider life of the school.
• Take on additional responsibilities and support learning in the absence of the class teacher, where appropriate.

About You

The successful candidate will ideally have:

• Previous experience working as a HLTA within a primary or specialist school setting.
• Experience supporting children with a range of learning needs.
• A good understanding of children's learning and development.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• A patient, caring and nurturing approach.
• The confidence to work independently as well as part of a wider school team.
• Good organisation skills and the ability to manage classroom responsibilities effectively.
• A proactive, flexible and adaptable approach.
