SEND Teaching Assistant - Specialist Schools, Full Training Provided

Location: Redhill and surrounding areas, Surrey
Salary: £18,000-£25,000 per annum, depending on role and experience
Contract: Full-time, part-time, term time only and temp-to-perm opportunities

NextGen Teachers are working with a range of specialist SEND schools and alternative education settings across Redhill and the surrounding areas, supporting pupils with a wide range of additional needs.

We are looking for caring, patient and reliable individuals who are passionate about helping children and young people overcome barriers to learning.

Previous school experience is desirable but not always essential. Full training and support may be available depending on the role.

The Role

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities could include:

• Providing 1:1 and small-group support
• Helping pupils access learning and classroom activities
• Supporting children and young people with SEND and additional needs
• Supporting pupils with Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH and other learning difficulties
• Encouraging communication, confidence and independence
• Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour
• Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils
• Creating a calm, safe and supportive learning environment
• Working closely with teachers, therapists and specialist staff
• Supporting pupils to achieve their individual learning and development targets

Depending on the setting, some roles may also involve supporting pupils with personal care, medical needs or complex needs.

• Psychology or Education graduate
• Candidates with healthcare, social care or children's services experience

Experience supporting SEND, Autism, ADHD, SEMH, challenging behaviour or complex needs is beneficial, but transferable experience will also be considered.

Full Training and Support

You don't need to have experience with every aspect of specialist SEND education.

Depending on the setting, induction, training and ongoing support will be provided to help you develop the skills needed to work confidently with pupils with additional needs.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience within specialist education, SEND and alternative provision.
