Pay: £100-£130 per day, depending on experience

NextGen Teachers are recruiting Cover Supervisors to work across a range of secondary schools in Horsham and the surrounding areas.

This is a great opportunity for confident and reliable individuals who enjoy working with young people and want to gain classroom experience, with opportunities available for both short-term and long-term cover.

The Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you'll supervise secondary school classes when the regular teacher is absent.

You'll be provided with pre-set lesson plans and work, with your role focused on ensuring students remain engaged, follow expectations and complete their work.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supervising classes across a range of subjects
• Delivering pre-set work and lesson activities
• Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies
• Ensuring students remain focused and on task
• Supporting a calm, safe and productive learning environment
• Answering basic questions and supporting students with their work where appropriate
• Reporting any issues or incidents to teaching staff
• Building positive and professional relationships with students
• Adapting to different schools, classes and environments

Who We're Looking For

You don't need to be a qualified teacher or have formal teaching experience.

• Residential or support worker
• Someone with previous experience working with young people

An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service is required, or you must be willing to apply for one.
