NextGen Teachers are looking for dedicated 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistants to support several local primary schools in Crawley. If you are a compassionate professional with experience in education or care, this is your opportunity to provide the personalized support that allows a child with additional needs to truly thrive.

The Opportunity

  • Location: Crawley (Specialist Primary Settings).

  • Pay: Competitive daily rates (Weekly PAYE).

  • Hours: 08:30 - 15:45, Monday to Friday (Term Time Only).

  • Contract: Full-time, ongoing supply with long-term potential.

  • Support: Access to Free Pre-Placement Training to enhance your SEND toolkit.

Your Role: Transforming Potential into Progress

As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you aren't just an extra pair of hands; you are a vital lifeline for a student with complex needs. Your focus will be on:

  • Personalised Care: Providing 1:1 support for children with Autism (ASC), ADHD, and Speech & Language difficulties.

  • Removing Barriers: Adapting learning materials to suit Global Developmental Delay or MLD, ensuring every lesson is an inclusive experience.

  • Collaborative Success: Partnering with teachers and external specialists to deliver the best possible outcomes for your pupil.

  • Safe & Nurturing Space: Maintaining high safeguarding standards while building a secure, trusting environment.

What You Bring to the Team

We are looking for individuals who view "care" as a professional calling. To be successful, you will need:

  • Experience: A background in supporting children or young people with complex SEND.

  • Education: Minimum GCSE Grade C/4 in English, Maths, and Science (Level 3 TA qualification is highly desirable).

  • Passion: A genuine drive to help children with SEMH and behavioural challenges find confidence and success.

  • Compliance: An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or a willingness to obtain one).
