SEN Teaching Assistant - Temporary / Supply

Salary: £90 - £100 per day

NextGen Teachers are recruiting enthusiastic and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants to support a specialist school in the HG2 area of Harrogate.

We are working with a welcoming and supportive specialist SEN school that caters for pupils, between the ages of 2 - 19, with a range of additional needs. The school is looking for dedicated, patient and proactive Teaching Assistants to join their team on a temporary and supply basis, with the potential for longer-term opportunities for the right candidates.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children with special educational needs and making a genuine difference to their learning, development and everyday lives.

The Role:

• Supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs and disabilities
• Working alongside the class teacher to deliver engaging and inclusive learning activities
• Providing 1:1 and small-group support where required
• Supporting pupils with communication, social, emotional and behavioural needs
• Helping to create a safe, nurturing and positive learning environment
• Encouraging independence, confidence and personal development
• Supporting pupils with their day-to-day routines and, where required, personal care

The Ideal Candidate:

• Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN is desirable
• A patient, caring and resilient approach
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
• A flexible and adaptable attitude, particularly within a supply setting
• A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
• A willingness to get involved and make a positive contribution to the school community
