SEN Teaching Assistant - WF7 - Immediate Start

Location: WF7
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:45am-3:35pm | Term-Time Only
Salary: £19,000-£20,000 per year
Start Date: Immediate

NextGen Teachers are recruiting SEN Teaching Assistants to join a nurturing and well-supported specialist school in WF7. You'll be working with pupils with Autism (ASD) and complex needs (including PMLD), helping them build communication skills, independence, and social confidence through calm, structured and engaging activities.

This is an incredibly rewarding role for someone who is patient, dedicated, and passionate about supporting children with additional needs.

Your Responsibilities

  • Support pupils 1:1 and in small groups with ASD and complex learning needs

  • Assist with communication, sensory activities, and daily routines

  • Provide personal care where required

  • Promote a safe, calm, and consistent learning environment

  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and wider support teams

  • Help pupils develop independence and life skills

Requirements

  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEND, ASD, PMLD, or complex needs (school, childcare, residential or care setting)

  • Comfortable providing personal care

  • Patient, adaptable, reliable, and nurturing

  • DBS on the Update Service (or willing to obtain quickly)

  • Able to start immediately
