SEN Learning Support Assistant
Location: Leeds
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Full-time | Temp to Perm | Term Time Only
Salary: £20,000 - £23,000 (dependent on experience)

NextGen Teachers are recruiting a SEN & SEMH Learning Support Assistant for a specialist secondary provision in Leeds. This is a full-time, term-time only role with small class sizes and the opportunity to secure a permanent contract.

This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with experience in SEN, SEMH, behaviour support, youth work, care work or support roles who are looking for a rewarding position supporting young people.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support students with SEN and SEMH needs
  • Provide 1:1 support and small group interventions
  • Assist teachers with adapted learning activities
  • Support behaviour management and emotional regulation
  • Help create a safe, structured learning environment
  • Encourage student engagement and confidence

Requirements

  • Experience working with children or young people (school, care, youth work, coaching, etc.)
  • Calm, patient and resilient approach
  • Strong relationship-building skills
  • Ability to support challenging behaviour
  • Team player with a proactive attitude
