Contract: Full-time | Temp to Perm | Term Time Only
Salary: £20,000 - £23,000 (dependent on experience)
NextGen Teachers are recruiting a SEN & SEMH Learning Support Assistant for a specialist secondary provision in Leeds. This is a full-time, term-time only role with small class sizes and the opportunity to secure a permanent contract.
This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with experience in SEN, SEMH, behaviour support, youth work, care work or support roles who are looking for a rewarding position supporting young people.
Key Responsibilities
- Support students with SEN and SEMH needs
- Provide 1:1 support and small group interventions
- Assist teachers with adapted learning activities
- Support behaviour management and emotional regulation
- Help create a safe, structured learning environment
- Encourage student engagement and confidence
Requirements
- Experience working with children or young people (school, care, youth work, coaching, etc.)
- Calm, patient and resilient approach
- Strong relationship-building skills
- Ability to support challenging behaviour
- Team player with a proactive attitude
