SEMH Primary Teacher
SEMH Qualified Primary Teacher
Location: Banbury
Contract: Full-time, Term-Time Only, Permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 3:30pm
Start Date: September
Salary: £28,000 - £39,520 (depending on experience)
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated SEMH Teacher to join a highly supportive specialist school in Banbury. This rewarding opportunity involves working with pupils aged 5-18 who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them overcome barriers to learning and achieve positive outcomes both academically and personally.
As part of a skilled multidisciplinary team, you will deliver engaging and tailored learning experiences while providing the guidance and encouragement students need to thrive. Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons for pupils with SEMH and complex needs.
- Create a safe, structured and inclusive learning environment that promotes positive behaviour.
- Use effective behaviour management strategies and support individual behaviour plans.
- Monitor, assess and report on pupil progress, attainment and wellbeing.
- Work collaboratively with staff and external professionals to support pupil outcomes.
- Build strong, positive relationships with pupils to support engagement, development and achievement.
What we're looking for:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a strong academic background.
- Experience teaching or supporting pupils with SEMH and/or complex needs.
- Strong behaviour management skills with a calm, consistent and resilient approach.
- Ability to plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons to meet individual needs.
- A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners and improving outcomes.
- Strong teamwork, communication and relationship-building skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion and ongoing professional development.
