NextGen Teachers are currently recruiting for a Level 3 qualified Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Harrogate on a supply basis, with the potential for the role to develop into a full-time, long-term position.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant who holds a Level 3 qualification in Childcare, Child Development or a related subject and is looking for a rewarding role within a supportive primary school environment.

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher and wider school team to support pupils with their learning, development and wellbeing.

The role will involve:

• Supporting pupils across the primary age range, depending on the school's requirements
• Working alongside the class teacher to deliver engaging learning activities
• Providing 1:1 and small-group support where required
• Supporting children's academic, social and emotional development
• Helping pupils develop confidence, independence and positive learning behaviours
• Assisting with classroom preparation and learning resources
• Encouraging positive behaviour and maintaining a safe, inclusive learning environment
• Building strong and positive relationships with pupils
• Working collaboratively with teachers and other support staff

About You

The successful candidate will ideally have:

• A Level 3 qualification in Childcare, Child Development or a related subject
• Previous experience working with children in a school, nursery or other educational setting
• A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development
• A patient, caring and nurturing approach
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• The ability to work effectively as part of a team
• A flexible and adaptable approach to working in different classroom environments
• A commitment to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment
• The right to work in the UK
• An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to complete one)
• The ability to provide 24 months of professional references

This role initially offers supply flexibility, making it ideal for candidates who would like to get to know the school and its pupils before committing to a longer-term position.
