The Role

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 and small-group support to primary-aged pupils.

  • Support children with additional needs, including Autism, ADHD and associated behavioural or emotional needs.

  • Encourage positive behaviour, emotional regulation and active classroom participation.

  • Adapt learning activities to meet pupils' individual needs and abilities.

  • Work closely with class teachers, the SENCO and other school staff to promote pupil progress.

  • Help maintain a safe, inclusive and positive learning environment where every child can thrive.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Has previous experience working with children in a primary school, SEN setting or similar environment.

  • Has experience or a particular interest in supporting pupils with Autism and ADHD.

  • Has knowledge of Team Teach, de-escalation techniques or positive behaviour support.

  • Demonstrates patience, empathy and a calm approach when managing challenging situations.

  • Builds positive relationships with pupils and colleagues.

  • Is reliable, proactive and committed to helping children achieve their potential.

What's on Offer?

  • £90-£95 per day, depending on experience.

  • An ASAP start following the half-term break.

  • A placement until at least Christmas, with the potential for extension.

  • Valuable experience within a Leeds primary school.

  • Ongoing guidance and support from the dedicated NextGen Teachers recruitment team.
