Inclusion Support Teaching Assistant
SEMH Support Worker / Teaching Assistant
Salary: £22,600-£23,738 | Term-Time Only | Full-Time- Monday-Friday
Start Date: ASAP (subject to notice period)

NextGen Teachers are seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and forward-thinking school in Huddersfield. These roles are ideal for individuals who are compassionate, resilient, and committed to supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
You will play a vital role in helping students overcome barriers to learning, build confidence, regulate emotions, and develop essential life and social skills.
Your Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 and small-group support to students with SEMH and complex needs
Assist with behaviour regulation, de-escalation, and pastoral support
Help pupils access lessons, engage with learning, and make progress
Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and parents/carers
Promote a calm, safe and nurturing environment for all learners
What We're Looking For
Experience working with SEMH, SEND, or behaviour needs (education, youth work, care or similar)
- Recent classroom experience
GCSEs in Maths & English (or equivalent)
Level 3 qualification (preferred)
DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to process one)
Full UK driving licence and access to a car
Patient, proactive, reliable and able to start ASAP (subject to notice)
