NextGen Teachers are looking for motivated and caring graduates who are passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of children with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

This rewarding full-time role offers the opportunity to work closely with pupils who require additional support with their learning, social development, emotional wellbeing, and behaviour. You will play a key role in helping students develop confidence, achieve their individual goals, and access education in a meaningful and engaging way.

This position is particularly suited to graduates who are considering a career in teaching, educational psychology, speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, counselling, or other child-centred professions. It provides excellent practical experience within a supportive school setting, allowing you to develop valuable skills while making a genuine difference to young people's educational journeys.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide targeted behaviour support to pupils, helping them regulate emotions and engage positively in learning activities
  • Support pupils in overcoming behavioural, emotional, and social barriers to learning, promoting positive outcomes for all
  • Work closely with class teachers and SEN staff to implement behaviour strategies and individual support plans
  • Create a calm, consistent, and inclusive environment that encourages positive behaviour and pupil wellbeing
  • Build trusting and supportive relationships with pupils to encourage engagement and personal development

What we're looking for:

  • Experience supporting children with behavioural, emotional, or social needs in a school setting
  • A calm, consistent, and positive approach to managing behaviour
  • Strong resilience and the ability to handle challenging situations effectively
  • A team player who works closely with teachers, SEN staff, and external professionals
  • Confident in building positive, trusting relationships with pupils to support engagement and progress
  • Passionate about helping every child develop self-regulation skills and reach their full potential
