Behaviour Support Assistant
Location: Barnsley (S71)
Start: ASAP (pending notice)
Hours: Term time only | Monday-Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm
Salary: £22,000-£24,000 per year
NextGen Teachers are looking for a passionate and resilient Behaviour Support Assistant to join a welcoming Barnsley school supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
You'll work closely with young people to help them feel safe, supported, and motivated - creating a positive environment where they can thrive both in and out of the classroom.
Requirements:
Classroom experience is essential
Level 3 qualification (or equivalent)
Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH, SEND, or in care settings
Strong understanding of positive behaviour strategies and de-escalation
GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
- Full driving license
