The Role

  • Support pupils across primary or secondary age groups with a range of special educational needs and disabilities.

  • Adapt teaching approaches and resources to ensure learning is accessible, engaging and meaningful.

  • Support pupils with needs including autism (ASC), social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH), communication difficulties and complex learning difficulties.

  • Promote positive behaviour, emotional regulation, confidence and independence.

  • Create a safe, structured and inclusive classroom environment that encourages participation and progress.

  • Monitor pupil development and adapt learning strategies to meet individual targets and outcomes.

  • Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, SENCOs and other professionals to provide consistent, effective support.

  • Encourage pupils to develop their communication, social skills and independence.

  • Build positive relationships with pupils while maintaining high expectations and a nurturing approach.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for committed, adaptable and enthusiastic teachers who are passionate about supporting pupils with additional needs.

You will ideally have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

  • Experience teaching pupils with SEND, ideally within a specialist or inclusive educational setting.

  • The ability to differentiate lessons and adapt teaching strategies to suit a range of learning needs.

  • Strong classroom management and positive behaviour management skills.

  • Excellent communication, organisation and teamwork skills.

  • A patient, resilient and nurturing approach to supporting pupils.

  • A genuine commitment to helping children overcome barriers to learning and achieve their potential.

  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils.

What's on Offer?

  • Long-term teaching opportunities: Consistent placements across primary and secondary SEND settings.

  • Potential for permanent employment: Temporary-to-permanent opportunities for teachers seeking a longer-term position.

  • Competitive salary: £33,000-£55,000 per annum, depending on experience and role.
